Korespa: discover the Spanish-speaking world

Korespa is a content magazine for anyone curious about the Spanish-speaking world.

A place to discover its countries, cultures, history, food, music, people, traditions, places, customs, expressions, celebrations, landscapes and all those small and significant things that help shape its identity.

Because speaking Spanish means sharing a language, but it also means discovering an extraordinary variety of ways of living, thinking, celebrating, cooking, creating, telling stories and understanding the world.

A journey through the Spanish-speaking world

With Korespa, you can travel without packing a suitcase.

From Spain to Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and the many other countries and communities where Spanish is part of everyday life.

Every place has its own story.

Its own flavours.

Its own music.

Its own landscapes.

Its own words.

Its own people.

Its own traditions.

And its own way of living and experiencing the Spanish language.

Korespa aims to bring all these stories together in one place.

Culture, history and everyday life

Here you will find a wide range of content.

You may read about major historical events or discover small local curiosities; explore world-famous monuments or places that many travellers never notice.

You can discover traditional recipes, popular dishes, markets, restaurants and products that form part of the culinary culture of different regions.

We also explore music, cinema, literature, art, architecture, sport, nature, travel, historical and contemporary figures, popular expressions, sayings, legends, celebrations and traditions.

From Spanish tapas to Argentine mate.

From Mexico’s Day of the Dead to the Carnival of Barranquilla.

From flamenco to salsa, tango, bolero and vallenato, as well as new generations of artists reshaping music in Spanish.

From the Andes to the Caribbean.

From small villages to some of the world’s great cities.

There will always be something new to discover.

More than articles

Korespa is not intended to be simply a collection of written articles.

We want you to be able to see, listen, read and discover.

That is why our content may combine articles, photography, videos, music and other resources that help bring each subject to life.

You might listen to a song while discovering the story behind it.

Watch a video about a tradition.

Learn about a recipe and then try making it yourself.

Discover the meaning of an expression you have never heard before.

Or simply enjoy an unexpected story about a place on the other side of the Atlantic.

Where available, videos may also allow you to use subtitles or reduce the playback speed so you can listen to Spanish more easily.

Because discovering a culture can also be a wonderful way to discover a language.

One language, many cultures

More than twenty countries share Spanish as an official language, but no two of them speak, cook, celebrate or live in exactly the same way.

That diversity is one of the greatest strengths of the Spanish-speaking world.

We share words, histories and cultural connections, while thousands of differences make every country, region, city and community unique.

The same word can mean something completely different depending on where you are.

A recipe can change when you cross a border.

A celebration may carry centuries of history.

And a song can sometimes tell you more about a country than any travel guide.

Korespa wants to explore that vast world.

The familiar and the unexpected

We are interested in the big stories, but also in the small ones.

Famous places and those hardly anyone knows.

Centuries-old traditions and emerging customs.

Historical figures and the people creating culture today.

We want to explore what defines each place, but also the curiosities, surprising stories and everyday details that can sometimes explain a culture better than major historical events.

In an illustrated, accessible, flexible and dynamic way, Korespa aims to explore broad and specific subjects, traditional and contemporary themes, and stories that range from the familiar to the unexpected.

Because there is always more to learn.

Discover before you travel — or after you return

Perhaps you are thinking about visiting one of these places.

Perhaps you have already been there and want to understand it better.

Perhaps you are learning Spanish.

Perhaps you have family roots in a Spanish-speaking country.

Or perhaps you are simply curious.

Wherever you are reading from, Korespa aims to bring these places closer to you.

You can explore a city from your sofa.

Discover a recipe you have never tried.

Listen to an unfamiliar song.

Understand a tradition.

Learn a new expression.

Discover a story.

And perhaps, one day, decide to travel there and experience it for yourself.

A magazine for curious people

We do not pretend to know everything.

The Spanish-speaking world is far too large, diverse and constantly changing for that.

Korespa is a project built around continuous discovery.

We want to learn, research, share stories and continue adding new perspectives, places and knowledge.

That is why Korespa is also open to people who want to contribute and help us discover something worth sharing.

Because culture belongs to the people who live it, remember it, create it and share it.

Experience the world in Spanish

Travel.

Listen.

Read.

Discover.

Cook.

Sing.

Learn.

Be surprised.

And above all, enjoy the journey.

Live, listen, feel, sing and savour the world in Spanish.

We hope you enjoy discovering it as much as we enjoy sharing it.
